Nashville's downtown behaves differently depending on what is happening at Music City Center, and visitors planning a trip on mileage alone get caught out regularly. If you are bringing clients or executives into the city, the convention calendar is worth checking before the flights are booked.
What a large show actually changes
A major convention fills downtown hotels, which pushes visiting staff further out — to the airport corridor, to Brentwood, or across the river. That turns a five-minute walk to a meeting into a genuine transfer.
It also loads the surface streets around the convention centre and Lower Broadway at predictable times, and it stretches every transportation provider in the city simultaneously. A vehicle booked the day before during a large show is not the same proposition as one booked the day before in a quiet week.
Build the schedule around the arrival, not the meeting
The most common planning error is scheduling a morning meeting against an arrival the same morning. Nashville's flight bank into BNA is heavily weighted early, which sounds helpful, but a delayed inbound leaves no recovery time before a nine o'clock start.
